Good Day to all. Need your advise kung ano ang mas better for someone na walang backround regarding linux. Im planning to install Linux on my thinkpad.

Halos same lang naman ang Ubuntu actually and both distributions are good for beginners. Kahit alin sa kanila ay maganda kung gusto mong matuto ng Linux.

Both distributions din naman ay galing sa Debian. Kaya halos same lang yung loob nila pareho. Same din yung gamit nilang package manager (APT) kaya di ka masyado mahihirapan. Ang pinagkaiba lang siguro is yung mga release cycles nila and yung mga customizations na ginagawa ng mga maintainers nila.

Ang magiging basehan nalang ng pagpili mo ay sa look and feel/aesthetics ng os. Kung san ka mas komportable gamitin. Ang Linux Mint kasi, halos hawig sa Windows (Traditional Desktop) at ang Ubuntu naman ay medyo iba ang DE (Gnome).

Thanks sa reply boss. Sobrang beginner kase ako sa linux system. Di ko parin gets kung paano mag install ng apps. Reading and watching tutorial sa youtube pero puro advanced na nakikita ko. :grin:

Hello. Maraming ways kung paano mag-install ng applications sa Linux. Depende talaga sa distro and dun sa application. Minsan kasi ikaw pa mismo yung magbuild ng mismong app from source code. Sa Debian based systems like Ubuntu/Mint, ang ginagamit nila is APT (Advanced Package Tool) para makapag-install ka ng popular applications. Search ka lang about sa APT. Mostly gagamitin mo yan through commands sa terminal or CLI.

eg.
Bash:
sudo apt install firefox
(Installs Firefox using terminal/CLI)

Tama din si boss Crimson312 na pwede mo rin gamitin yung App Store ng both Ubuntu and Linux Mint sa desktops para di ka na mahirapan pa mag-install ng applications.
